Coup for UC nurses
A new contract for nearly 10,000 registered nurses at University of California medical centers marks “a significant advance for the retention and recruitment of registered nurses.” That’s according to Beth Kean, California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee’s UC director, in a release announcing approval of the three-year pact.
Along with pay raised across the board, as well as pensions and retirement health-care security, the contract includes sweeping reforms to patient safety.
After longtime Butte County employees call it quits, an interim replacement is found for one of them.
