County picks interim CAO
Supervisors select finance wizard to replace Haddix
Greg Iturria’s name doesn’t ring a bell to most people, but in Butte County government he’s known as the numbers wizard—chief financial officer, or front man in the battle to balance the budget. On Tuesday (Jan. 19), however, he learned he was about to take on a new role, when the Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to make him interim chief administrative officer, replacing current CAO C. Brian Haddix when he leaves on March 24.
Iturria has been a CAO before, in Mariposa County, and an assistant CAO in Yuba County. Unlike Haddix, he and his family actually live here—in Chico, where they’ve resided for seven years. “We absolutely love being a part of this community,” he said in a press release.
