Contemporary posturings …

The North State is in for some innovative choreography when Walnut Creek-based dance company Diablo Ballet performs at the State Theater in Oroville. Choreographing much of its dances to contemporary sounds, as well as classical, jazz, and rock, the company has met with much artistic success, claiming both enthusiastic public response and significant critical acclaim. Sponsored in part by a grant from the California Arts Council. The troupe performs at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19.
