Cleaner cars are coming
California preps for plug-ins
An electric-vehicle collaborative met for the first time recently in an effort to ensure California is prepared for plug-in vehicles to sweep the state, according to a press release from the group.
The California Plug-in Electric Vehicle Collaborative will give input to the transportation and electric-vehicle research center at UC Davis, where scientists are creating a plan to help the state prepare for the large-scale introduction of clean-transportation vehicles.
The collaborative is composed of stakeholders including state-agency officials, automakers and non-governmental organizations. The group first met on July 20 after the Plug-in 2010 Conference in San Jose.
