Chico State ag school named top innovator
College of Agriculture makes top-25 list of cutting-edge California ag-business entities
Chico State’s College of Agriculture has been picked as one of the top 25 agricultural innovators in California from a list of 100 finalists, according to a university press release.
Twelve of the 25 will be honored with a California Agriculture Game Changer of the Year Award on July 21 at GROWCalifornia’s inaugural Agriculture Innovation Conference at UC Davis. The awards will be presented by California Department of Food and Agriculture Secretary Karen Ross.
Each of the top 25 honorees will be chosen as either a first-place winner or first runner-up in one of 12 categories of ag-business innovation; Chico State is competing in the Innovative Education and Science Initiatives category.
“They are making a tremendous impact on the agriculture industry through their innovations, and by virtue of that, are having a critical positive impact on California’s economy,” said GROWCalifornia CEO Jon C. Gregory of those on the top-25 list.
