Paradise Adventist Academy senior launches fundraiser for hospice, palliative care
A local high school student completing a hospice internship is launching an event to support and raise awareness of hospice and palliative care in Butte County.
Madison Carter (pictured), a senior at Paradise Adventist Academy, is serving as race director of the Celebration of Life 5K Run/Walk as part of her internship with Dr. Hyung An at Feather River Hospital, according to an Enloe Medical Center press release. Proceeds from the race will benefit multiple health care organizations throughout the county that specialize in end-of-life care.
The race will be held Sunday, May 3, at One-Mile Recreation Area in Bidwell Park, starting at 9 a.m. Go to www.active.com and search “Celebration of Life 5K” to register. Race entry fees are $25-$35.
