Campuses take eco-honors
The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education has announced the recipients of its now-annual Campus Sustainability Leadership Awards.
Founded in 2005, AASHE is an association of colleges and universities (including Chico State) working together for the common goal of a sustainable future. The leadership awards recognize institutions at which an outstanding commitment to sustainability has been demonstrated within its administration, curriculum and research, operations, campus culture and community outreach.
Announced during an environmental conference last week, Michigan State University, Middlebury College, Green Mountain College and Chandler-Gilbert Community College took the top honors, while Evergreen State College and UC Berkeley received honorable mentions.
