Butte Humane Society seeks leader
The nonprofit revamped the job description
Butte Humane Society has struggled for many years with a poor facility and high turnover in management positions. It appears that struggle continues, as the shelter is seeking its fourth executive director in as many years, but Kristen Staggs, president of the shelter’s Board of Directors, is optimistic.
The board has been working hard the past six months to increase fundraising and revamp some of the job descriptions, including that of executive director, a position that’s been empty since Christine Fixico left the post in October.
In other news, Staggs said the nonprofit has been working with the city on plans for a new facility—its current spot on Fair Street is in a state of disrepair—with details to come in the next few months.
