Brewery snags another green stamp

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. was recently honored for implementing greener transportation policies, such as improving bicycle parking, providing showers for employees who walk, jog or bicycle to work, and providing a fleet of bicycles for employees to use, according to a brewery press release.

In early December, the company received certification in the category of Transportation and Air Quality, the newest category in the Platinum Sacramento Area Sustainable Business program.

The program, which helps businesses conserve resources, certified the brewery as a sustainable business in its other five categories (water conservation, pollution prevention, energy conservation, solid-waste reduction and green building) in December 2009. Check out GreenHouse for more info.
