Breast center earns badge
Top-notch care
North State Imaging in Chico recently became one of 30 breast-imaging centers in the nation to be recognized by a national program that measures the quality of breast health care, according to a press release.
In late June, the facility earned the distinction of Certified Quality Breast Center by the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers (NQMBC), a program that provides breast centers with a model for achieving top care. “This recognition, along with [American College of Radiology] accreditation, says to our patients that our center goes above and beyond performing only the services they need,” said Sandy Cowan, a certified nurse navigator at the facility.
North State Imaging, which is locally owned and operated, is the only breast-care center in the North State to receive the distinction, according to the NQMBC database.
