Book sale

It’s official. Lyon Books is for sale. That’s according to owner Heather Lyon, who has informed both her employees and customers of the news.

“I was hoping that one of our customers or maybe one of the local writers or someone close to us would be interested and would want to carry on the legacy,” she said.

Lyon Books moved to its present location on Main between First and Second streets in March of last year after 10 years on Fifth Street between Broadway and Main. The store has long hosted literary get-togethers and readings by local authors whose works make up an important part of the store’s inventory.

“The thing that we do that we are proudest of and I think differentiates us from the big-box store is that we represent over 200 local writers,” Lyon said.
