Sheriff’s Office discovers woman’s body, investigating death as a homicide
The Butte County Sheriff’s Office has opened a homicide investigation following the discovery of a woman's body in Oroville last week.
A 911 call on Saturday, Nov. 14, reported the deceased woman was found near the 600 block of Dunstone Drive, according to a BCSO press release. The release states the woman appeared to be the victim of a homicide, but offered no further details pending investigation.
The victim, who remains unidentified, is a white female between 5-feet-5 and 5-feet-8 inches tall and weighing 160 to 200 pounds. The body appears to have been at the site for several days before it was discovered. The BCSO is encouraging anyone who knows a missing person matching this description to contact them at 538-7671.
