BINTF busts
Several drug-related arrests made in Oroville
The Butte County Interagency Narcotics Task Force (BINTF) recently conducted a couple of big drug busts in Oroville.
On Aug. 21, BINTF agents working with federal agents arrested seven people on drug charges after a 10-month investigation of alleged methamphetamine trafficking. Search warrants led to the discovery of 10 pounds of meth, five firearms and more than $70,000.
The meth allegedly was transported here from Mexico as directed by Federico Sandoval Aguilar of Biggs. Alejandro Lopez-Corona of Biggs was also arrested, as were Oroville residents Manuel Garcia Navarro, Rafael Morfin-Medina, Rickey Lee Xiong, Sou Xiong and Cindy Lee Hunter.
Two days later, BINTF agents arrested James Wellman of Oroville on charges of manufacturing cannabis oil; and possession of explosives, meth, marijuana for sale, and narcotics without a prescription; as well as the charge of felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. Kristian Wilson of Oroville was arrested on charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
