California’s bike friendliness is up in 2014

Every year on May 1, to kick off Bike Month, the League of American Bicyclists publishes a ranking of the states after judging them on various attributes—from infrastructure and funding geared toward alternative transportation to education on bike safety and encouragement programs that promote biking. California made huge strides since last year’s ranking, moving from No. 19 in 2013, to No. 9 this year.
