Big guy explores his options
Paul Zingg interviews for San Diego State presidency
Chico State President Paul Zingg announced late last week that he’ll be interviewing for the presidency of another California State University campus.
In a message to faculty and staff, the big man on campus noted that he’s declined all previous invitations because he had not imagined another stage of his career “beyond continuing to serve Chico State and living in the Chico community.”
Zingg called the interview at San Diego State a “mutual exploration” that he’ll approach with an open mind. “I do want to affirm a heightened and extended commitment to our university and community should a change in my personal circumstances not occur,” said Zingg, who came to Chico State in 2004. “This weighs heavily on my mind and in my heart in the consideration of all matters.”
