Better breast care

Renovation construction has begun to transform North State Radiology’s medical building, across The Esplanade from Enloe Medical Center, into a cutting-edge breast cancer center.

The Chico Breast Care Center will combine three separate services—North State Imaging, Enloe Comprehensive Breast Care and the Breast Care Center of Northern California—“into one fully integrated, state-of-the-art facility,” according to a press release from North State Radiology. The center will offer, among other services, 3-D mammography, a diagnostic tool that may better detect invasive tumors and avoid false alarms than traditional screening methods, according to WebMD.com.

The center is scheduled to open this summer.
