Batman action figures

Batman: The Animated Series (1992-1995) was a wonderfully stylistic take on the Caped Crusader. The original action figure line was above par for the time, and now DC Collectibles is re-vamping it with detailed sculpts, great accessories and cult characters. The line captures the stylistic animation perfectly, but that does create some articulation problems—exaggerated torsos and tiny joints limit range of movement. Additionally, initial waves used weak plastic for small joints, which often broke; however, DC Collectibles is addressing this problem in future versions. But the aesthetics are top notch and the accessories—such as Mad Hatter’s control panel and Batman’s grappling gun—are unique and well-crafted. Plus, upcoming releases will include fan favorites such as Zatanna, Harvey Bullock and The Ventriloquist. An inspired line worthy of the “collectible” moniker and attendant price hike—each figure is in the $23-$30 range.
