Banners on high Controversial military displays go up on busy street. This article was published on 11.19.15 Chico Military Heroes' banners, honoring currently serving armed forces personnel, went up along the eastern portion of East Avenue, near Wildwood Park, on Veterans Day. The City Council recently approved the group's plans to honor local servicemen and women along the length of the street—from Highway 32 to Wildwood Avenue—year-round for at least the next two years.
