Bank backs cancer center
Money funds coping program
Tri Counties Bank recently donated $25,000 to an Enloe Regional Cancer Center program that helps patients cope psychologically and socially with cancer, according to a news release.
The sum is enough to fund Enloe’s Cancer Connections program for an entire fiscal year. Cancer Connections offers support groups, a healing-arts program, acupuncture services and more to help patients understand the full impact cancer can have on the body and mind. Rick Smith, president and CEO of the bank, presented the check in late April to Mike Wiltermood, Enloe’s president and CEO, at a business celebration at The Palms in Chico.
The donation was made one month after Enloe announced its new partnership with UC San Francisco’s Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. The bank donated $125,000 to the Enloe Foundation six years ago for its Century Project expansion at its Esplanade campus.
