HP introduces energy-friendly computers in time for holidays

Just in time for the holidays, tech giant Hewlett-Packard is marketing some new products aimed at eco-conscious consumers.

On Nov. 9 the Silicon Valley-based company will release two environmentally friendly desktop computers—the HP Pavilion Verde Special Edition a6645f and the Pavilion Phoenix Special Edition a6655f.

The Energy Star-qualified computers come equipped with special features that reduce energy usage by 45 percent over traditional computers. Both machines meet the standards of Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool or EPEAT.

In addition to the energy-saving features, the PCs will come packaged in recycled packaging.
