Midway through Artoberfest, Chico’s annual celebration of local arts, hundreds of local artists have showcased their work to thousands of local viewers. Their media vary—paint, glass, metal, performance—but one common thread connects them: creative expression.
Where do these pieces come from? What inspires them? What’s the process? We spoke with four artisans from various disciplines seeking answers to those questions that may seem obvious to those with artistic gifts but not so to the masses who admire them.
