Another market springs to life
Chico Certified Farmers’ Market is opening a market in north Chico
Chico shoppers who are fans of the local farmers’ markets will soon have another option for picking up delicious, fresh, locally grown produce.
The Chico Certified Farmers’ Market, the same nonprofit group that organizes the popular year-round downtown market on Saturdays, is opening another Saturday market out in the ’burbs. Later this spring, CCOF vendors will be selling at the North Valley Plaza in a parking lot next to the old Mervyn’s building.
This new market is seasonal, running from May 1 through October, covering the busiest months of the year for local growers. The hours of operation will be 7:30 a.m. to noon.
CCOF has been organizing farmers’ markets for 30 years. The new market is its sixth.
