Annie rakes it in
To say the first annual Annie B’s Community Drive was successful is an understatement. The fund-raising effort brought in an amazing $787,000 to 127 area nonprofits—matched by another $100,000, half from an anonymous donor and half from the North Valley Community Foundation. Some 200 people turned out to celebrate Saturday (Oct. 13) on the lawn of Bidwell Mansion.
More than 2,000 people donated, giving amounts ranging from $5 to $100,000, said Alexa Valvanis, CEO of the foundation (pictured with “Annie Bidwell”). NVCF is an umbrella philanthropic group that collects and distributes donations and provides administrative services in Butte, Colusa, Glenn and Tehama counties.
