Anchor flies east
Notice something was amiss on Wake Up! this week? The rabid viewers up at that ungodly hour of 5:30 a.m. surely noticed Ashley Coleman’s smiling face (pictured) was missing from the KHSL morning program.
One viewer contacted the CN&R after her inquiry to the TV station went unanswered. After a little digging, we discovered that Coleman is indeed taking off, following her former KHSL colleagues who flew to Florida, the lovebirds Melissa Cabral and Sean Bennett. According to a TV industry newsletter, Coleman will be the new weekend anchor and reporter at Jacksonville’s NBC affiliate WTLV.
Someone at WTLV’s news desk confirmed that Coleman is indeed joining the team and will start Fri., June 1.
Coleman got her start at KHSL in April 2005 in the Redding broadcast center before moving to Chico and eventually landing the coveted Wake Up! slot. She’ll make an 80-market jump to No. 50 in Florida.
