America’s favorites
Hillary and Barack most admired
Hillary Clinton, the former first lady who may or may not run for president next year, continues her run as American’s most admired woman in the world, according to a Gallup poll taken last month. She’s held that position for the past 13 years and 17 of the last 18 years. Clinton’s run was briefly eclipsed by first lady Laura Bush in 2001 in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. President Obama is America’s most admired man, an honor he has held since being elected in 2008. Following Clinton in popularity is Oprah Winfrey, and the (relatively) progressive Pope Francis comes in just behind Obama.
