Americans lose optimism in February
Fewer say the economy is getting better
Americans’ outlook on the state of the economy is apparently still very tenuous, varying month to month, according to a new Gallup survey. For example, the pollster’s Economic Confidence Index shows that optimism dropped from January to February. The results are based on current economic conditions and economic outlook. The percentage of Americans who said the economy is getting better fell by three points in the second month of 2011. Here are the monthly averages, from 2008 to 2011.
