Americans largely OK with airport security

Poll finds a majority of Americans say new measures are worth it

Traveling by plane over the holidays and worried about an invasion of privacy due to the use of full-body screening or pat-downs? If so, you’re in the minority.

According to a recent Gallup poll, 71 percent of respondents say the security measures are worth it to prevent acts of terrorism. Those who participated in the survey have flown at least twice in the past year.

Another question asking travelers whether the methods “bothered” them revealed slightly nuanced responses:
