Americans: Consider Obama’s guy
A majority say the U.S. Senate should vote on Merrick Garland’s SCOTUS nomination
Should the U.S. Senate hold a vote on President Obama’s pick for the Supreme Court of the United States? A majority of Americans say yes. According to a recent CBS News/New York Times poll, 53 percent of respondents want the Senate to vet Merrick Garland, the president’s nomination following the sudden death of Justice Antonin Scalia. Forty-two percent said the Senate should wait; that the next POTUS ought to bring forth a nominee.
