The Sierra Nevada is an amazing place, full of ecological wonders, breathtaking landscapes and many lifetimes of legends. Gary Noy and Rick Heide edited a collection of stories and poems about the Sierra Nevada, including narratives about the impact of a camping trip on the wilderness and experiences from a family held in an internment camp. Many local authors are featured, as well as excerpts from famous writers such as Mark Twain, Henry David Thoreau and others. A free book signing and presentation on The Illuminated Landscape: A Sierra Nevada Anthology will be Saturday, August 7, 1 p.m. at The Book Seller, 107 Mill Street in Grass Valley.
