Sacramento has a space for nearly every interest. Whether you enjoy time spent with family outdoors, learning about the history of flight and train travel or exploring indigenous art and cultures, our region’s museums have you covered. On Saturday, more than two dozen museums will celebrate the 20th Annual Museum Day with special events and activities. Check out the largest haiku collection outside of Japan in the California State Library, craft beaded bracelets and grind acorns at the Maidu Museum & Historical Site in Roseville or pan for gold at the Sacramento History Museum. Nearly every participating museum will open their doors Saturday free of charge, so make a day of exploring as many of these local gems as possible. www.sacmuseums.org.
