As it dances toward the close of its 60th season, the Sacramento Ballet stages a Modern Masters program dedicated to the company's founder, Barbara Crockett. Three of the four works in the show were created by former Crockett students—Jodie Gates, Parrish Maynard and Robert Kelley—who went on to major careers in the dance world. Gates was a principal dancer with the Joffrey Ballet; Maynard was a principal dancer for American Ballet Theatre and the San Francisco Ballet; and Kelley, now co-artistic director of the Santa Cruz Ballet, was a leading dancer for Crockett's Sacramento Ballet when Ron Cunningham and Carinne Binda took over as directors in 1988. Cunningham's dramatic Incident at Blackbrier, his first ballet for the company, completes the program. Modern Masters, 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday; $45. Performing Arts Center at Sacramento City College, 3835 Freeport Boulevard; (916) 552-5800, ext. 2; www.sacballet.org.
